Derby College Group (DCG) are recruiting for an Assistive Technology and Accessibility Assistant. This is a great opportunity to work closely with the Assistive Technology and Accessibility Lead. The Assistive Technology and Accessibility Assistant (AATA) role presents a valuable opportunity to make a meaningful impact on student success by promoting inclusivity and equal access to education. This role will be based across all our amazing college sites.

By supporting students in the effective use of assistive technologies and specialist equipment, the role directly empowers individuals to overcome barriers and fully engage with their academic programmes. It also offers the chance to develop and create accessible learning resources that benefit a diverse range of learners across all Derby College sites. This position not only enhances students' independence and confidence but also contributes to a more inclusive learning environment, making it a rewarding opportunity to support educational equity and drive positive outcomes for all learners.

You will bring an understanding of how to adapt materials into accessible formats and demonstrate familiarity with specialist equipment and assistive technologies that enhance student engagement. Your confidence in using key digital tools such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, and Outlook will enable you to create and manage accessible resources effectively. A sound awareness of the Equality Act 2010, SEND reforms, and Education, Health and Care Plans reflects your commitment to inclusive practice, alongside your understanding of current approaches to supporting students with specific learning difficulties and disabilities. With experience working directly with students and an ability to apply varied assessment methods, you will be well-equipped to meet individual needs.
