Derby College Group (DCG) is delighted to be recruiting a Sessional Teacher of Equine to join our dedicated team at the beautiful Broomfield Hall campus. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced equine professional to inspire students and contribute to the delivery of our Level 3 Equine programme, teaching modules including equine health, behaviour, biology, and nutrition. This is a term time only role.

The Opportunity

You will be responsible for the planning, delivery, and assessment of Level 3 equine teaching, ensuring agreed performance and quality standards are consistently met. A key aspect of the role involves delivering 1:1 lessons to students with specific inclusion and support needs, using innovative and inclusive teaching and assessment approaches to support student progress, engagement, and achievement.

About You

You will have strong knowledge of the equine sector and hands‑on industry experience, ideally across a range of settings. Experience teaching students with additional support needs would be beneficial. Teaching experience on the City & Guilds Level 3 Extended Diploma in Equine Management is desirable, along with current industry CPD. A recognised teaching qualification and FE teaching experience would be advantageous.
