In the role of Senior Surveyor, here’s an example of what you’ll be doing to make an impact:
- You will play a significant role contributing to effective Estate Management of over 1400 assets benefitting the Council, Service Users and the residents of Derby City.
- You will undertake a range of property work to support the service for example, all aspects of Lease management, negotiation and rent reviews.
- You will be involved in acquisitions and disposals, some compulsory purchase work and other property related functions.
- You will support the Council’s asset rationalisation programme and contribute to formulation of estates policy, in respect to all areas of estate management, including debt management, compliance and concessionary lettings policy.
To be successful in this role, you’ll ideally have…
- Expertise in property management and have experience of some valuation work preferably
- Communication skills allowing you to clearly and effectively communicate with a range of stakeholders
- Experience of work with or for Local Government
- Experience of statutory compliance issues affecting estate management
- RICS Accredited Degree / Qualification in Estates Management or equivalent is preferable but not essential
