We are looking to recruit enthusiastic, professional, flexible individuals to join our Derby City Registration Services Team.
The main duties are conducting and registering Marriage and Civil Partnership ceremonies. There may also be the opportunity to become involved in other aspects of Registration work such as registering births and death, attending and administering citizenship ceremonies and certificate production.
You must have the ability to:
• understand, interpret and apply detailed regulations to ensure procedures are followed correctly and statutory obligations adhered to
• demonstrate a high level of accuracy and have clear legible handwriting for the production of legal documentation
• prioritise workloads and work to tight deadlines with minimal supervision
• work effectively as part of a team in a fast paced working environment
• demonstrate competence in the use of IT systems both windows based and bespoke to registration.
Attention to detail, good command of written and spoken English and a smart appearance are all essential for this post.
Previous experience working within the Registration Service would be an advantage as would confidence in public speaking. However full training will be provided where required.
Experience of working in a customer facing role is also essential as is the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
You must be flexible in your approach as the role will require you to work at different locations around the City of Derby and involve working weekends, bank holidays and out of normal office hours to cover the needs of the service.
