Hours: 28 hours per week Monday & Tuesday 8.30am – 5.00pm; Wednesday, Thursday & Friday 8.30am – 12.30pm.

Responsibilities:

  • Be the main point of contact for visitors to the school site.
  • Undertake reception duties: answer general incoming and outgoing telephone calls, face‑to‑face enquiries and sign in visitors.
  • Request DBS or ID information from visitors, ensuring safeguarding practices and procedures are followed.
  • Liaise with parents/carers regarding collection of pupils, first aid and other matters.
  • Be responsible for pupil first aid/welfare, looking after sick pupils.
  • Maintain manual and computerised records/management information systems.
  • Undertake typing and word processing and other IT tasks; operate relevant packages (e.g., Word, Excel, databases, email).
  • Receive and record income relating to school dinners.
  • Admin support for pupil meals, liaising with catering and lunchtime teams.
  • Identify pupil absence and mark registers.
  • Monitor stationery stocks.
  • Provide general clerical/admin support.

Qualifications:

  • Reliable, efficient and approachable.
  • Friendly disposition, flexible approach and ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong proven communication and administration skills.
  • Experience with reception duties and clerical work.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and DBS processes.

Commitments:

The successful candidate will meet the person specification and will be subject to pre‑employment checks, including health checks, enhanced DBS, Children’s Barred List check and satisfactory references. The school is an employer of a regulated activity; disqualification will result in prohibition.
