What the Job Involves
The role entails managing the Council’s building and maintenance projects, acting as the principal advisor to the Corporate Landlord on compliance issues. You will manage mechanical engineering systems, ensuring all projects meet compliance, servicing, and project delivery criteria related to specifications, quality, and budget. Responsibilities include budget planning, resource management, and contract procurement in line with European legislation. You will establish project design and quality standards, govern construction projects, and ensure compliance with CDM regulations. As part of the role, you will devise and implement strategies for efficient asset management, maintain the Asset Management Database, and enforce the Council’s policies and standards. Leadership duties comprise training and staff development, ensuring service continuity, and standing in for the Service Manager when needed. Furthermore, you will support the Council's environmental and equality initiatives while keeping current with required training and performance management protocols.
