Hours:

  • 1 x 6 hours 15 minutes per week (Monday – Friday 12.15 pm – 1.30 pm)
  • 1 x 10 hours per week (Monday - Friday 11.30 am - 1.30 pm)

About this Role:

Grampian Primary Academy caters for approximately 240 pupils aged 3 to 11 and is set in spacious grounds, with a strong commitment to providing a high-quality curriculum for every child. Grampian Primary Academy nurtures successful learners, confident individuals and responsible citizens through exciting and relevant learning experiences, promoting a positive environment where children feel happy, safe and valued, and where they are inspired to be the best they can be.

Job purpose:

To work effectively as part of a team with responsibility for the children within the school during their lunchtime break.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • To supervise activities and maintain the health, safety, welfare, good conduct and safeguarding of pupils during the midday break, having regard to special or additional needs.
  • To manage and support pupils whilst eating their midday meal.
  • To manage and support the school meal wristband system.
  • Report incidents in line with school policy and administer basic first aid.
  • Assist in the supervision and running of activities during the midday break, including setting out and storing equipment.
  • Encourage pupils to select and eat healthy balanced meals.
  • Clean up spillages of food or liquid during meal service.
  • Wipe down tables and clean dining areas between meals.
  • To organise pupils play activities either outside or in the classroom.
  • To talk and listen to the children and encourage independent skills and good manners.
  • To share any concerns regarding any pupil with your Supervisor, Line Manager, Class Teacher or Head Teacher.
  • To share any child protection issues with the Head Teacher or Pupil/Parent Support Manager.
