An opportunity has arisen to apply for a key role with the Derby and Derbyshire Safeguarding Children Partnership (DDSCP). The DDSCP Partnership Manager role involves overseeing the effective management of the DDSCP business office and team, working with statutory partners and the partnership as a whole to ensure it meets its statutory duties and strategic priorities. Responsibilities

  • Supporting the groups that are responsible for delivering the DDSCP objectives, ensuring plans are in place and that everything runs smoothly.
  • Collecting and analysing management information to enhance performance and quality assurance.
  • Organising learning opportunities for partners to enhance safeguarding practices and improve outcomes for children and families.
  • Organising quality assurance activities to prepare for inspections and manage responses effectively.
  • Overseeing practice reviews, including Child Safeguarding Practice reviews and rapid reviews.
  • Building strong partnerships with various stakeholders to deliver better safeguarding services to children and young people.
  • Liaising with the Independent Scrutineer to support effective scrutiny of the partnership, in line with the agreed scrutiny plan.
  • Overseeing DDSCP activities to ensure effective information sharing.
  • Managing staff and business operations to ensure compliance and efficient working practices.
  • Serving as the primary contact for DDSCP communications, handling media and public queries effectively.
  • Managing the DDSCP budget within available resources.
  • Collaborating with partners to manage the DDSCP business plan and risk register.
  • Liaising with colleagues on behalf of the partnership regionally and nationally where the need arises, including liaison with the National Child Safeguarding Practice Review Panel.

Qualifications

  • An in-depth knowledge of safeguarding children legislation, regulations, and policies.
  • Proficiency in business planning, performance management, and multi-agency safeguarding systems.
  • Ability to effectively lead, develop, and support high-performing teams.
  • Experience in conducting and coordinating audits and writing strategic reports.
  • An understanding and ability to promote equality issues.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
  • Capability to manage workload independently and work collaboratively across partnerships.
  • Strong analytical skills to manage complex data and trends.
  • Budget management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with senior partners and colleagues at all levels.
  • You must hold a professional qualification (and registration where appropriate) at degree level in Social Work, Teaching, Nursing, or Criminal Justice and preferably a management or leadership qualification.
