Responsibilities
- Ensure the efficient and effective operation of libraries
- Work closely with colleagues including direct reports, volunteers, senior managers and Councillors to deliver a high quality, professional service
- Support and deliver key projects and initiatives that help drive service improvement
- Ensure libraries are well run, well presented, safe, and welcoming to all
About You
- Minimum Grade C GCSE Maths & English or equivalent
- ECDL Level 1 or equivalent IT qualification, and experience of using IT on a daily basis
- Understanding of public library work
- Experience of working with people of all ages and from all backgrounds
- Experience of recruiting, managing, monitoring and motivating a team of staff and volunteers
- The skills to deal effectively with difficult people and confrontational situations
- Enthusiasm for reading, and the ability to promote the benefits of reading within the local community
