However, each post will be required to work at any of the above libraries if required.

We are looking for confident individuals who can work well with a range of stakeholders, including partners, external organisations, library and council colleagues and volunteers.

We want to increase the opening hours of each library site. To do this, the postholder will need to recruit, manage, train, support and grow a team of volunteers, and encourage greater use of the library space by partner groups and organisations.

We also want the postholder to increase library membership and take up of library services. They will do this via their team of Library Assistants, volunteers and senior library colleagues by working on a range of key areas including literacy, book borrowing, well-being, IT learning sessions and increasing attendance at events and activities.

Alongside volunteer and staff management, the postholder will take day-to-day responsibility for building management.

The postholder must be organised and efficient and have excellent communication skills. They must understand the benefits of libraries and the positive impacts on communities of the services offered and be able to promote them confidently and effectively.

The successful candidate must be able to work the timetabled hours and be willing to work outside of their timetabled hours occasionally, this may include late nights or weekends.
