Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 mentoring to build confidence, study skills, work readiness, and motivation.
- Run small-group support on employability, confidence building and broader engagement.
- Support employer engagement—helping learners prepare for jobs, applications and workplace expectations.
- Offer clear advice and signposting so learners access the right support across Derby’s provision.
- Promote volunteering, enrichment and social enterprise to strengthen learner experience and progression.
- Monitor attendance, engagement and progress—helping learners stay on course, overcome barriers and achieve their next step.
- Work with employers to identify suitable roles, adapt tasks and support successful workplace transitions.
- Co-develop work placements and trips that build wider skills and readiness for further learning or employment.
- Motivate learners to develop confidence, resilience and the personal skills needed to progress.
