The Individual Giving Officer is a pivotal role that looks after our growing community of supporters. You will be able to work flexibly at our Museum and Art Gallery and from home and will help implement our fundraising strategy, focusing on Friends, legacy pledgers, in‑memory supporters, fundraising event supporters, Buy a Bird and Adopt an Object supporters.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting our fundraising and membership communications
  • Crafting engaging social media copy and e-news to promote charitable giving
  • Leading Individual Giving appeals
  • Acting as the first point of contact for legacy pledgers and enquirers
  • Pulling together the Derby Museums Friends ‘Orrery’ Newsletter
  • Processing donations and sending warm thank‑you letters

The successful candidate may be a recent graduate or already working in a marketing or fundraising environment.

The Person

We are looking for a proactive individual with a passion for building and developing strong supporter relationships. Desired attributes include:

  • Experience with database management (advantageous)

Benefits

Salary: £26,798 – £29,392 (FTE) / £16,296 – £17,873 (pro rata)
Contract type: Permanent
Employee benefits: 20 days (pro rata) + bank holidays (pro rata), flexible working, mileage allowance payable on authorised business travel
Hours: 22.5 hours a week, including occasional evening or weekend working
