Applicants are invited to join our dynamic, busy and friendly Environmental Protection Team, who are an appropriately-qualified Environmental Health Officer (A degree/diploma in Environmental Health) or Specialist Technical Officer, with experience of dealing with Environmental Protection matters and with relevant specialist qualification(s).
We are looking for a capable officer, able to use computer systems, keep accurate records, and who can work effectively under pressure on their own, as a member of a team and without close supervision.
You will be confident, self-motivated, have excellent communication skills and with a broad understanding of environmental protection legislation and enforcement work.
Responsibilities
- Duties and responsibilities include the investigation of and associated enforcement action for a wide range of complaints and Environmental Protection matters including statutory nuisance, waste issues, public health funerals, environmental crime, drainage, abandoned/nuisance vehicles and filthy and verminous properties.
- Plus general support within the Environmental Protection Team.
Qualifications
- A full driving licence is essential.
- Environmental Health Officer (EHO) or Specialist Technical Officer with experience in Environmental Protection matters and relevant specialist qualifications.
