The opportunity:
- Inspect dwellings and enforce statutory provisions to ensure compliance with the authorities’ statutory obligations, and provide guidance, information, and training to landlords to aid their compliance.
- Prepare, monitor and authorise legal and other documentation, and instigate legal proceedings to ensure compliance with the authorities’ statutory obligations.
- Keep up to date with relevant legislation, standards, guidance, and other information to develop specialist knowledge of relevant subject areas to ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
- Attend and contribute to meetings, committees, public enquiries, tribunals, and court hearings in a technical, expert, or advisory capacity.
About you:
- BSc or MSc in Environmental Health, backed by a Certificate of Registration from the Environmental Health Registration Board (EHRB).
- Proven track record in a local authority or regulatory environment.
- Deep understanding of current UK housing legislation.
- Excellent negotiation, report‑writing, and conflict‑resolution skills.
