At the forefront of the local public sector's response to these challenges sits the Council's Regeneration & Economic Growth Team. Local government is undergoing an exciting period of change through Local Government Reorganisation and Devolution. Derby's brilliant Regeneration & Economic Growth team develops and leads on delivering a portfolio of programmes and projects to achieve outcomes including job creation, new housing, business growth and increased City Centre footfall. You will be part of a team working closely with private and public sector partners as well as other Council services.
The successful candidates should be professionally qualified or have relevant experience of working in a regeneration and economic development environment or in housing, planning or another relevant field. A proven track record of successfully designing, delivering and managing complex programmes and projects is essential, along with experience of working in partnership with the private sector.
Good organisational, budget, contract management, communication and interpersonal skills, with confidence in negotiation are essential. If you are passionate about regeneration and economic growth, making a difference, and have strong collaboration and problem-solving skills, you will love working as part of the Regeneration & Economic Growth Division.
