Location: Mickleover Primary School

Hours: 39 weeks/ hours a week per day

Contract type: March 2026. Initially 2 years with the possibility of being made permanent.

The Governors wish to appoint a Level 2 Upper Key Stage Two Teaching Assistant to become part of our welcoming and supportive school community. Initially working in Year 6, the successful candidate will provide targeted support for pupils with SEND, including those with ASD, helping them to thrive both academically and emotionally.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Experience of working with Key Stage Two children, including those with ASD and additional learning needs.
  • NVQ Level 3 for Teaching Assistants or Supporting Learning in Schools or equivalent qualification or experience.
  • Experience of working with children of a relevant age to those in the school.
  • Experience of working with programmes to develop children’s social, emotional and communication skills.
  • Secure literacy and maths skills.
  • The ability to plan and deliver effective interventions under the guidance of the class teacher, SENCO or Inclusion Manager.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent team working skills.
