Job description

We currently have an exciting opportunity for Relief Technical Assistant’s to join our busy Production & Technical Team at Derby LIVE, part of Derby City Council.

We present, produce and host an excellent and diverse programme of live performances, conferences, events and festivals throughout the City of Derby. You will assist in providing professional technical support for the setup and running of productions and events, and the maintenance of performance technical equipment. You will be a multi-skilled Technician with an area of specialism in one or more of the following fields: Lighting, Sound, AV, Stage.

You will work across all of Derby LIVE’s venues and performance spaces on a rota basis, covering events at Derby Arena, other city venues and outdoor events throughout the city.

You will need to be able to lift and handle heavy equipment and have a flexible approach to working hours including evening and weekend working.

You must be able to travel to different locations within the City of Derby.

Interviews will be held by arrangement with shortlisted candidates.

All employees will normally be appointed to the minimum of the grade for the job. For reasons connected with a particular need of the Council it may be appropriate, subject to approval, to appoint to a higher point in the pay grade.
