The Opportunity
The Derby and Derbyshire Safeguarding Children Partnership (DDSCP) brings together statutory partners and relevant agencies to safeguard children, support effective multi-agency working and promote the welfare of children and young people across Derby and Derbyshire.
We are looking for a motivated, organised and flexible Business Services Officer to provide high-quality administrative, coordination and business support to the DDSCP business team and wider safeguarding partnership.
Responsible to the DDSCP Partnership Manager, you will help ensure that partnership activity is well organised, accurately recorded and effectively supported. This will include coordinating meetings, preparing agendas and papers, taking accurate minutes, maintaining records, supporting communications and assisting with the smooth running of DDSCP business processes.
This is an excellent opportunity to use your organisational, communication and IT skills in a very busy safeguarding partnership environment. You will work with colleagues and partner agencies across Derby and Derbyshire to support effective governance, information sharing, engagement and partnership improvement.
What you’ll be doing
- providing effective business and administrative support to the DDSCP business team, including diary coordination, meeting arrangements, agenda preparation and accurate minute taking
- supporting the coordination of partnership boards, sub-groups and task and finish activity, ensuring actions, decisions and records are clearly documented and followed up
- maintaining accurate information, records and documentation to support strong governance, assurance and effective partnership working
- assisting with communications, website updates, document formatting and the circulation of information to partner agencies and practitioners
- using strong organisational, communication and IT skills to support improvement activity, performance reporting and the smooth running of DDSCP business processes
About you
To be successful in this role, you’ll ideally have:
- experience of providing administrative or business support in a busy team or partnership environment
- strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise work, meet deadlines and maintain accurate records
- good written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear documents, minutes and correspondence
- confidence using Microsoft Office and digital systems to support meetings, information management, communications and reporting
- the ability to work collaboratively and professionally with colleagues, partners and stakeholders, while using initiative and maintaining confidentiality
