The Business Insight & Improvement Manager will sit within Derby City Council's Policy, Insight and Performance Service who provide data, analysis, insight and policy expertise to support the operational management and strategic planning of services.

Key Qualifications
- Knowledge of local government datasets, statutory reporting, and inspection requirements for Children's Early Help and Social Care, and Learning, Inclusion and Skills services.
- Strong skills in data analysis, forecasting, modelling, and presentation.
- The ability to translate complex data into compelling stories for decision-makers.
- Proven experience of managing and developing a team.
- Ability to apply technical skills to developing systems and reports (SSRS, Power BI).
- A track record of influencing strategic decision‑making through evidence and insight.
Key Responsibilities
Good communication skills, both oral and written, are essential for this role, as the postholder will be required to present complex and sometimes technical information in appropriate forms for a wide range of audiences.
