An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Derby City\'s busy Trading Standards Team. This role sits within the Fair Trading & Product Safety Specialism. As this is an apprentice role, previous experience is not necessary as this exciting opportunity will see you complete the Level 6 Trading Standards Professional Apprenticeship (Tobacco & Vapes legislation), where you will undergo training and be supported to develop the knowledge, skills and competencies required of a Trading Standards professional. You will need at least a grade 4 GCSE (grade C) in English and Mathematics, be educated to A-Level standard and have a full driving license. You must behave with integrity, be confident, self-motivated, flexible in your approach and outcome focused.
The main area of work for this role will be the enforcement of legislation governing vapes and tobacco, including the supply of illegal/illicit products and tackling age restricted sales to children but you will also be involved in the full range of Trading Standards duties including investigations, inspections, advising business/consumers and project work.
