Salary: L18- L21 Inner London Leadership Scale (currently £88,496 – £99,951)
Who We Are
Deptford Park Primary School (DPPS), in the north of the London Borough of Lewisham, is at the heart of our community and we seek to create strong partnerships within our locality and beyond for the benefit of our children and families. Our school aims for high academic standards for all, but at the same time embodies the broadest possible definition of education through the wide creative curriculum experiences we offer. The school’s focus is firmly fixed on learning and we believe learning should be fun and that you never grow too old for new learning. Our children love learning and coming to school so there’s a palpable atmosphere on site that encompasses a warm welcome, sense of belonging and acceptance and a consistent drive towards building the strongest future possible for each and every pupil. We celebrate and embrace the rich diversity of our inclusive community and encourage children to respect each other’s cultures and faiths. Our school badge “The World In Our School” reflects this.
What we’re looking for
A dynamic, passionate and experienced leader who can ambitiously yet sensitively continue DPPS’s progression through financial challenges and change. We are lucky in that there are lots of opportunities open for us and our site, including the planned opening of a Severe Learning Disabilities Unit (SLDU), so our headteacher should also be a visionary leader who can help maximise outcomes for our community and build a strong, sustainable future. Our headteacher will have the opportunity to make a lasting impact both in school and in the wider community so we need someone who wants to genuinely join us and add to the culture we have. If you’re open minded, have a big heart and the will to deliver exceptional outcomes for our pupils, then we would love to hear from you.
Key skills and attributes that we’re looking for:
- An inspirational and dynamic leader who can whole heartedly engage our entire community; from embracing what makes each child individual to developing our wonderful staff to progressing partnerships across the local area.
- Deep commitment to diversity and inclusion, including securing EAL, SEND and trauma informed practice ensuring success and achievement for every single pupil.
- Change management and strategy; a clear, ambitious and flexible vision for the school and the ability to bring the community together and on the journey with you.
What We Offer
- An experienced, passionate team who are committed to our school and students.
- An incredible atmosphere in which students thrive, staff develop and the community positively engages.
- A large school site filled with possibilities.
- An engaged and supportive Governing Body.
- An opportunity to have a real impact on a deeply diverse community.
