WHO ARE WE?

DEPT® is a Growth Invention company built to help the world’s most ambitious brands grow faster. Operating at the intersection of technology and marketing, our 4,000+ specialists deliver growth invention services across Brand & Media, Experience, Commerce, CRM, and Technology & Data. We’re 50|50 tech and marketing, partner-led, and first to move. Clients include Google, Lufthansa, Meta, eBay, and OpenAI. We have been certified B Corp and Climate Neutral since 2021.

JOB PURPOSE

This is an embedded role working directly within the marketing team of a UK Award winning fintech, based at their offices in Canary Wharf. In their next phase of growth the focus is scaling the current account proposition from hundreds of thousands of customers to millions. Organic acquisition will play a critical role in that, and our website is set to become a key growth driver, supporting both traditional search and emerging AI‑driven discovery. This is a growth role at the intersection of content, performance, and the future of search. You’ll help shape how a modern fintech gets discovered and chosen, and make sure that when customers find us, the experience helps them make smarter financial decisions. We already have a clear strategy for how we show up across search and large language models, and this role will play an important part in delivering it.

We’re looking for a Senior Content Manager who’s as comfortable in GA4 and tools like Hotjar as they are in a copy doc, and at home pulling insights from BI dashboards (we use Tableau) – someone who can spot data‑driven opportunities and pull the right levers to act on them, whether that’s writing content themselves, briefing partners, or running tests with product and engineering. You’ll sit within our content team alongside other content managers, social and SEO, all reporting into the Head of Content & Social. It’s a hands‑on individual contributor role focused on helping drive measurable web growth, with scope to grow over time as our team evolves into a more strategic, performance‑driven content function. We are open to either a 3 month fixed‑term contract, or freelance.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Create and improve high‑performing web content
  • Write and optimise website content that drives acquisition, conversion and stronger customer outcomes
  • Create new pages and improve existing ones across the Zopa website – from the homepage to key landing pages, help and support and beyond – partnering with product on transactional journeys where content support is needed
  • Apply strong editorial judgement to improve clarity, structure and effectiveness on every page you touch
  • Work closely with SEO and performance partners
  • Partner with our SEO and GEO consultant to deliver against a defined roadmap
  • Liaise with our performance agency to create PPC landing pages optimised to convert paid traffic
  • Translate search and PPC insights into clear, effective content
  • Partner with product to ensure we have an effective and optimised web to app conversion experience
  • Audit and improve existing content, identifying what to fix, remove or consolidate
  • Help bring more structure and consistency to how content is managed across the site
  • Identify growth opportunities, propose content‑led tests, and partner with product and engineering to get them shipped
  • Help pull our brand promise through every product surface so the customer experience feels joined up

Teams you’ll work with

  • Product marketing, product, design and engineering – to shape and ship better web experiences
  • Brand and creative – to keep tone, visual identity and experience consistent across the site
  • SEO/GEO consultants and our performance agency – to translate insights into action

Across these partnerships, we’d expect you to push back constructively on briefs and propose better ways to solve problems through content. You’ll also manage freelance support where needed, including briefing, editing and QA.

What success looks like

  • Clear, high‑quality web content that performs against acquisition and conversion goals
  • Measurable improvements in engagement and conversion on the pages they own, with a clear contribution to organic visibility (including LLMs) and traffic at the site level
  • A more structured, scalable website experience that supports growth across products
  • Our Better Banking All Round promise pulled through clearly on every key page
  • Strong collaboration across product marketing, product, design, engineering and brand

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

  • A growth mindset
  • Energised by content that drives measurable outcomes, not just content that ships
  • Sees content as one of several levers – happy to write, but equally happy to brief, partner or test their way to a better result
  • Takes ownership of the outcomes their work drives (engagement and conversion on the pages they own), not just outputs
  • Appreciation and understanding of web performance
  • Strong working knowledge of how web pages drive acquisition and conversion
  • Hands‑on experience with GA4 and tools like Hotjar, and comfortable pulling insights from BI dashboards (we use Tableau) – used to spot opportunities, brief them in, and measure impact after they ship
  • Able to use data to inform decisions and improve content performance
  • A strong writer and editor
  • Excellent writing skills with a sharp eye for clarity and structure
  • Able to simplify complex ideas and create engaging, effective content
  • High attention to detail
  • A degree in English, Journalism or a related field is a plus
  • Experience working on web content
  • Experience creating or managing website content for acquisition or conversion
  • Ideally from an e‑commerce, marketplace or app‑led business
  • Familiar with SEO principles, without needing deep technical expertise
  • Comfortable working with product marketing, product, engineering, design and brand teams
  • Confident shaping and challenging briefs
  • Able to operate in a fast‑moving environment

WE OFFER

  • A flexible, hybrid working policy
  • The choice of medical healthcare providers (Bupa or Medicash)
  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays and your birthday off each year
  • Company pension scheme
  • Ride to work scheme
  • Enhanced family friendly policies
  • Buddy Program: You will be paired with a ‘Buddy’ to help you through your first weeks’ at DEPT®.
  • A reputation for doing good. DEPT® has been a Certified B Corp® since 2021 and named ‘Agency of the Year’ at both The Lovies and The Webby Awards.
  • Awesome clients. Whether big or small, local or global — at DEPT® you’ll get the opportunity to work with clients of all sizes and across all industries. And we celebrate all of our successes together!
