This role sits within our EMEA Data & AI practice, which has deep expertise in leveraging AI. The team includes data scientists and AI engineers that work alongside DEPT® teams around the world across different services – from commerce, to full-funnel media, content engineering to internal operations. You will be solving some of the hardest and most challenging problems facing some of the best loved brands in the world – and doing this alongside an experienced team.

JOB PURPOSE

We are seeking a talented and passionate Data Scientist to join our growing team of data scientists and AI engineers. You will design and deliver data-driven solutions across the full range of client challenges we take on: from predictive modelling and personalisation to end-to-end AI systems. Your focus area is media effectiveness and you will advise clients how to allocate their media budgets with your expertise in Media Mix Modelling, Incrementality and Attribution. Alongside this, you will operate as a full member of the team, contributing your statistical and ML expertise across other client workstreams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design data-driven solutions tailored to client challenges, leveraging advanced analytical methods, ML models, and AI technologies to deliver business value.
  • Lead media effectiveness projects for our clients - designing, building and interpreting Media Mix Models, incrementality studies, and multi-touchpoint attribution solutions that inform client budget allocation and marketing strategy.
  • Implement end-to-end scalable ML & AI systems - including model training, inferencing, deployment, and monitoring - leveraging latest cloud technologies.
  • Take a leading role in a multidisciplinary team consisting of engineers, consultants and client stakeholders.
  • Communicate complex technical solutions to clients in an understandable way, delivering progress reports and demonstrations.
  • Translate complex model outputs into clear, actionable recommendations for client stakeholders, including senior marketing leadership.
  • Consult and guide clients on data science implementation, serving as a trusted advisor on data-driven decision making.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • MSc degree in a highly analytical and quantitative discipline like Econometrics, Data Science, Applied Mathematics or Statistics.
  • Hands-on experience building as a data scientist building media effectiveness solutions, including Media Mix Modelling, incrementality studies and multi-touchpoint attribution solutions.
  • Solid understanding of marketing strategy, media channels, customer journeys, and how to translate media investments into business impact.
  • A strong foundation in traditional statistical methods (e.g. regression, time series, probabilistic models), combined with a proactive mindset for exploring and applying cutting-edge developments in ML and AI.
  • Deep understanding of Bayesian modelling and causal inference, and the ability to apply these in a client-facing measurement context.
  • Proficiency in Python with extensive experience in data science libraries (e.g. scikit-learn, pandas, NumPy, SciPy).
  • Strong SQL skills and experience with data warehousing solutions (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift).
  • Understanding of MLOps concepts and hands-on experience implementing them on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Experience with version control (Git) and deployment tools (Docker).
  • Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts and translate complex model output into actionable insights to a non-technical audience.
