As Depop’s operations and revenue streams continue to grow and with a period of Finance systems and process transition on the horizon, there is a need for a strong Management Accountant to join the team on a fixed term contract basis to support the Finance team across a multitude of different areas.
The Project Management Accountant role is newly created to support both the Opex and Revenue Finance managers navigate a transitional period and support in taking on new processes or helping redefine existing ones. It requires someone who has strong problem solving competence, enjoys understanding the details and has the adaptability to go across a number of different finance areas.
Responsibilities:
- Leading on the set up and implementation of controls and reconciliations of corporate card expenses through to posting of journal entries.
- Performing system related tasks in Workday to facilitate month and quarter end activities including but not limited to; Revaluations, ledger period maintenance, intercompany settlements, prepayments amortisation, Journal postings.
- Supporting both the Revenue and Opex Finance Managers on external reporting requirements (e.g ONS surveys).
- Supporting the maintenance of GAAP to Stat adjustments on a monthly basis and reporting these to the parent company.
- Working with the parent company to book and reconcile intercompany transactions on a monthly basis.
- Supporting in delivering information to the parent company on a monthly and quarterly basis in pre-determined templates.
- Supporting the transition to new ERP / P2P systems through involvement in testing or supporting to establish new templates / workbooks or processes.
Key requirements:
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) or Qualified by experience.
- Able to work independently, use good judgement, and resolve complex issues with minimal guidance.
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and confidence working with data.
- Comfortable operating in a fast-changing environment and managing multiple priorities.
- Experience improving finance processes and strengthening controls.
- Proficient in Google Suite and Excel.
Desirable:
- Experience and understanding of Marketplace KPIs.
- Experience with Workday and SAP S/4HANA.
- Experience with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements.
