We are looking for an experienced, handsâon IT manager to lead Depop's IT team. The team is focused on delivering and managing the tools, solutions, and support that drive productivity, efficiency, and a great user experience for all Depop employees across the UK and US.
As a manager, you will be responsible for the success, wellbeing, and effectiveness of our team of IT professionals, and ensuring the seamless delivery of our IT systems and services. You will play a key role in overseeing and enhancing Depop's information technology systems, creating and executing on a roadmap, and driving strategic initiatives to support the company's growth and innovation. This role will report to the Director of Engineering.
The ideal candidate will be capable of leading and working alongside a multidisciplinary IT team, and will bring experience in:

Responsibilities
- Lead and inspire a team of IT professionals, fostering a collaborative and highâperformance working environment.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to team members, promoting their professional development.
- Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the companyâs IT infrastructure and software systems.
- Ensure the reliability, security, and scalability of all IT systems, office networks and infrastructure.
- Collaborate with Engineering leadership and business partners to design and deliver IT strategies aligned with the companyâs business objectives.
- Identify opportunities for technology innovation and improvements to enhance overall staff productivity and cost efficiencies.
- Manage and coordinate IT projects, ensuring timely delivery within budget, thoughtful change management, and stakeholder communications.
- Work closely with the Security team to implement IT security policies and procedures.
- Evaluate and manage relationships with IT vendors and service providers, and work with the IT Operations and Vendor Management team to negotiate contracts, monitor service levels, and manage budget.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with crossâfunctional teams to foster collaboration and delivery of shared projects and objectives.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in leading an IT team, preferably in a startup or highâgrowth environment.
- Familiarity with managing and supporting a variety of operating systems and devices (we use macOS and Jamf), access control systems (we use Okta), and people information systems (we use Workday).
- Technical expertise in support, infrastructure, systems administration, and networking, with a heavy emphasis on customer service with the ability to empathise and communicate effectively with endâusers.
- Strong analytical and problemâsolving skills to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently, and develop and implement strategies to reduce recurring issues.
- Knowledge of security best practices and maintaining compliance controls.
- Experience capturing metrics and key performance indicators, identify trends, and making dataâdriven decisions.
- Demonstrated success in overseeing and managing IT teams, projects, and budgets.
- Great communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate complex technical information to nonâtechnical stakeholders.
