Position Summary

Depop is seeking a Legal and Compliance Operations Senior Specialist to provide essential operational and executional support across the company’s legal and regulatory compliance activities.

The role will support the Senior Manager, Regulatory Compliance, in executing key compliance initiatives and operationalizing regulatory and legal requirements.

  • Core Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the collection, organization, and delivery of information and data for regulatory inbound requests and inquiries.
  • Support execution of regulatory compliance work, maintaining clear records and progress tracking.
  • Manage inbound process‑based responses—including legal process, privacy operations, financial restraints, IP operations, anti‑counterfeiting, and communications with Attorneys General / Trading Standards.
  • Support external reporting and communications to law enforcement and regulatory bodies.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and audit trails.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and collaborate with Product, Policy, Customer Experience, Engineering, and Legal teams.
  • Additional Responsibilities
  • Lead internal efforts to enhance the overall content moderation ecosystem and the impact of Cinder, our API for AI‑powered moderation.
  • Coordinate stakeholders to ensure alignment on solutions for key issues in Cinder.
  • Use in‑depth Cinder knowledge to create effective workflows.
  • Gather internal requirements and feature requests for Cinder.
  • Test new features and raise bugs for rapid resolution.
  • Competencies & Experience
  • Essential Experience: legal operations, compliance operations, or trust and safety within a technology, e‑commerce, or online platform environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple concurrent workflows.
  • Experience coordinating data collection, review and response for legal or regulatory requests.
  • Excellent written communication and documentation skills.
  • High level of diligence, proactivity, reliability, and accountability.
  • Strong proficiency with data management tools and collaborative platforms.

Desirable

  • Familiarity with IP enforcement, data privacy, and content moderation processes.
  • Understanding of the EU Digital Services Act, UK Online Safety Act, or similar regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience liaising with law enforcement or regulatory bodies.
  • Previous experience supporting trust, safety, or compliance functions in a digital platform.
