Our Mission
We build the software that the world's factories run on. Manufacturers—and the companies creating the physical world as we know it—have largely been left behind by digitization. They often rely on outdated software, Excel, or pen and paper. This matters—for manufacturers needing to stay competitive, for the individuals operating production lines, and for our society striving to eliminate waste. Ferry is pioneering a new wave of Manufacturing Operations Platforms for the AI era. We empower the frontline workers—the people at the coalface of production—with digital superpowers. Our software powers some of the world's largest manufacturers, giving them the tools, insights, and capabilities to redefine how and what they produce. Supported by top-tier VC funds across the US and Europe, and trusted by global industrial players, joining Ferry means making a direct impact on the physical world from Day 1. We set the bar high—for our customers, and for ourselves.
Job Summary
We're seeking a technically adept and customer-centric Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) based in London. In this role, you'll immerse yourself in our customers' technical and operational ecosystems — from IT to OT landscapes, from siloed data sources to process data models. Your territory isn't just strategic — it's hands-on. You'll scope, deploy, and manage edge devices and connectivity infrastructure for data collection, author data pipelines that power workflows and AI, and realize solutions within the Ferry platform. You'll have the opportunity to travel extensively and discover how the world is made. You'll act as a trusted technical strategist — embedded with customers, iterating swiftly to deliver mission-critical systems, while feeding product insights back into our roadmap.
Who You Are

- Deeply technical, with hands-on knowledge of SQL (required).
- Proficiency in Python or an equivalent general-purpose language (strong nice-to-have).
- Experience with networking, edge compute, or infrastructure components.
- Comfortable with Docker and Kubernetes (nice-to-have).
- Familiarity with OT environments— PLCs, industrial protocols, manufacturing systems — highly valued.
- Strong communication skills to navigate both business and technical stakeholder interactions.
- Exceptional at scoping ambiguous business challenges and translating them into effective technical solutions.
- Adaptable, entrepreneurial, and comfortable with global travel and on-site dynamics.
Nice to Have
- Hands-on experience with edge hardware, connectivity, or industrial networking.

- Write and optimize data pipelines that feed workflows, analytics, and AI features.
- Build and deploy application-level solutions within the Ferry platform tailored to customer contexts.
