Civils Contracts Manager with experience in the rail sector wanted to join a leading infrastructure contractor, based in the Manchester area. This is an office based role, with site visits.
Responsibilities:
- Manage multiple civil engineering schemes in the rail, water and energy sectors, ensuring timely completion according to client specifications, safely and within budget.
- Agree contract details with client and ensure sign-off prior to works commencing.
- Ensure programme of works in line with contractual agreement.
- Manage the team, including Project Managers, Construction Managers and Site Managers plus admin staff.
- Lead on SHEQ.
- Accurate planning of resources and materials in line with project requirements.
- Make sure the following are all in place - Health and Safety Plans, Construction Phase Plans, Work Package Plans, Quality Plans and Environmental Management Plans.
- Ensure projects are completed in line with client requirements.
- Coordinate and manage team, including sub-contractor resource and external consultants, ensuring programme and cost milestones/targets are met.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including client, suppliers, sub-contractors etc.
- Conduct site inspections and risk assessments.
- Assist the commercial and SHEQ teams, providing documentation when called upon.
Requirements:
- To be considered for this role, previous experience as a Contracts Manager for civil engineering works within the railway industry is essential.
- As travel across Northern England is necessary, a driving licence is also required.
