Exciting opportunity for Electrical Technicians with experience of high voltage (HV, 11kV / 33kV) testing and maintenance to become a Senior Authorised Person for private networks. Working for an industry-leading organisation with a tremendous reputation for providing superb training and development to its employees, the role will involve:

  • Carrying out the inspection and maintenance (reactive and planned) of HV and LV equipment up to 132kV. Equipment will include switchgear, transformers, ring main units, busbars, circuit breakers and protection systems.
  • Plan, carry out and supervise HV switching schedules, ensuring compliance with Company Safety Rules.
  • Manage fault location and response, diagnosis and repair.
  • Provide quotations for works, work packages and plans, job instructions and RAMS.
  • Coordinate the work of Electrical Technicians, supervising junior staff.
  • Work with clients and other stakeholders to make sure project aims, deliverables and deadlines are met.
  • After gaining the appropriate authorisation, carry out HV switching and isolations.
  • Ensure electrical system safety - issue safety documentation in accordance with safety rules and operational procedures.
  • Test electrical installations, create test reports.
  • Ensure all projects are conducted to the highest standards of quality and safety.

Requirements:

  • Qualification in Electrical Engineering.
  • Driving licence.
  • Previous experience working with HV electrical systems, ideally from a maintenance perspective.
  • Supervisory experience and strong communications skills.
  • Current or previous HV Authorised Person (AP) or Senior Authorised Person (SAP) status.
