A CAD Technician with structural engineering / structures experience is required to join a major organisation in the rail sector on a contract basis. Initial duration is approximately six months with the potential of a further six month extension.

The primary focus of the role is to produce CAD drawings for structural renewal / maintenance projects, using standard industry software (AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D). Previous experience as a Structural CAD Technician is essential, with a background working on rail projects a big positive.

The CAD Technician will prepare, modify and review structural drawings for a range of works, including bridges, stations and tunnels, interpreting current drawings, inspection reports and surveys in order to support maintenance, strengthening and refurbishment works.

Following this will be the production of steelwork, reinforcement and connection designs for railway structures. All work will be carried out in accordance with industry standards, BS codes and Eurocodes.
