GOOD by CQC , and we are looking for an experienced, commercially aware and motivated
Registered Manager
to lead the service through its next stage of development. This is not simply a compliance or office-management position. We are looking for somebody who can successfully lead a regulated domiciliary care service while also playing an active role in
business development, tender opportunities, increasing care hours and developing relationships with commissioners and private clients. Key Responsibilities
Leadership, Operations & CQC Compliance
Act as the CQC Registered Manager for the service Maintain compliance with CQC regulations and Fundamental Standards Provide strong leadership to the care, coordination and office teams Oversee assessments, care plans and risk assessments Monitor care quality through audits, spot checks, reviews and quality assurance Manage safeguarding concerns, incidents and complaints appropriately Oversee safe medication management Maintain accurate and compliant records Lead recruitment, induction, supervision and appraisal Manage staff performance, conduct and capability where required Ensure care packages are safely and effectively staffed Prepare for CQC inspections and regulatory submissions Develop and monitor service improvement plans Promote a positive, professional and person-centred culture Business Development & Growth
Business development will be an important part of this position. The successful candidate will: Identify opportunities to increase care hours and develop new care packages Develop relationships with local authorities, commissioners, social workers and healthcare professionals Build and maintain professional referral networks Support the growth of our private client base Follow up appropriate enquiries and referrals Represent the company at meetings and networking opportunities Identify new geographical and service development opportunities Monitor local demand and opportunities within domiciliary care Work alongside the Directors to develop and implement growth plans Support sustainable growth while ensuring staffing and quality standards are maintained Tender Writing & Commissioning
The Registered Manager will have an active role in identifying and securing new contract opportunities. Responsibilities will include: Identifying suitable local authority, NHS/ICB and other commissioning opportunities Supporting and completing tender submissions Writing high-quality tender responses and method statements Completing Selection Questionnaires and procurement documentation Gathering supporting evidence for tender submissions Monitoring procurement portals and framework opportunities Liaising with commissioners and procurement teams Supporting presentations or clarification processes where required Supporting mobilisation following successful contract awards Ensuring contractual and commissioner requirements are understood and maintained Previous
tender writing, commissioning or contract mobilisation experience within health and social care is highly desirable. Management On-Call
Participation in the
management on-call rota is an expected part of this position . When on-call, the Registered Manager will provide out-of-hours management support and guidance to the care team. This may include: Responding to urgent staffing or rota issues Providing management guidance to care workers Responding appropriately to safeguarding concerns Supporting with incidents, accidents and emergencies Escalating matters to emergency services or other professionals where appropriate Ensuring appropriate management action and documentation following incidents Supporting continuity and safety of care outside normal office hours The on-call system is intended for genuine operational and care-related matters requiring management support outside normal office hours. Full details of the on-call rota, expectations and any applicable on-call arrangements will be discussed during the recruitment process. About You
We are looking for somebody who combines excellent care management with strong leadership and a commercial mindset. You should understand that a successful domiciliary care service requires excellent care, strong compliance, effective staffing and sustainable business growth. Essential Requirements
Strong experience within domiciliary/home care Previous management experience within adult social care Excellent understanding of CQC regulations and Fundamental Standards Strong safeguarding and Mental Capacity Act knowledge Experience managing staff and care packages Experience with care planning, risk assessment and quality assurance Confident managing complaints, incidents and investigations Strong leadership and communication skills Excellent written communication skills Commercial awareness and understanding of domiciliary care operations Willingness and ability to participate in the management on-call rota Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Adult Care, equivalent qualification, or working towards where appropriate Ability to meet CQC requirements for Registered Manager registration Highly Desirable
Currently or previously registered with CQC Experience managing a GOOD or OUTSTANDING service Experience of CQC inspections Business development experience within domiciliary care Proven experience growing care hours or developing new care packages Experience writing or contributing to local authority/NHS tenders Experience working with procurement portals and care frameworks Experience working directly with commissioners and social workers Experience developing private care business Experience mobilising newly awarded contracts What We Offer
