Responsibilities:
- You will be responsible for overall management and guidance in balancing the many factors required to establish program priorities, milestones and strategic goals within the CMP Department.
- You will oversee the life cycle management of in-service aircraft carriers.
- You will provide advanced planning, integration, and administrative control procedures for execution of carrier life cycle maintenance, availability planning, and modernization programs.
- You will establish work assignments to be accomplished by the employees in the program, setting priorities, preparing schedules for work completion, and ensuring the timely performance of satisfactory work efforts.
- You will be responsible for platform engineering management to include change management and class-specific expertise in Aircraft Carriers, and Modernization Integration of work at the platform level.
- You will develop approaches for the performance of availability duration schedule risk analysis and make changes as needed.
- You will develop long-range strategic plans to support program administration, evaluating and redefining goals and objectives.
- You will manage life cycle assessment requirements and make recommendations to the Technical Warrant Holder (TWH) to add, update, or modify requirements determined to maintain the ship over the life cycle.
- You will apply management and business principles to analyze situations, identify problems, probe causes and select courses of action for managers to pursue.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty.

- Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
- This position is covered under Public Law 114-264, the Program Management Improvement Accountability Act (PMIAA).
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites.
- You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics.
- Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NH-03 (GS-13 equivalency) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
- Specialized experience must demonstrate managing program requirements (i.e., cost, schedule, contracts, performance reporting, logistics, budget) to provide lifecycle maintenance and modernization planning in support of surface ships.
