About This Role

  • Security-focused role based at the re-opening Malmsbury Youth Justice Precinct.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the safety and security of the facility.
  • Monitor CCTV, report compliance, respond to alarms and conduct perimeter searches.
  • Work directly with young people in custody, including regular observation.
  • Redirect anti-social and challenging behaviour.
  • Respond to incidents as they occur.
  • Facilitate support from other services, including health and mental health providers, educators and disability organisations.

Eligibility and Requirements

  • Australian citizen (birth certificate, citizenship certificate or current passport).
  • Permanent resident of Australia.
  • New Zealand citizen who has entered Australia on a valid passport or eligible to work for over six months.
  • Pass health and fitness assessment.
  • Current First Aid Certification (HLTAID011).
  • Current CPR Certification.
  • Valid Working with Children Check (Employee).
  • Driver licence desirable but not mandatory.

We’re currently offering up to $10,000 as a relocation allowance for eligible candidates interested in moving to within an hour's drive of the facility.
