DWP Digital is looking for an outstanding Senior Test Engineer to join our community of tech experts, to assist in the design of Infrastructure services in collaboration with Architecture and Engineering principles. We are using fresh ideas and leading-edge tech to build and maintain digital solutions that will be used by nearly every person in the UK, every day and at key moments in their lives.
What skills, knowledge and experience will you need?
- Experience of working in a complex, multidisciplinary environment, leading testing activities and engaging with multiple stakeholders.
- Experience in modern programming language preferably JAVA or JavaScript and aptitude to learn.
- Experience in building and maintaining API automation testing preferably Rest Assured or similar tools.
- Experience in building and maintaining UI automation testing preferably Selenium / Cypress or similar tools.
- Adaptable team player who can influence others and has experience of shift left principles including CI/CD tools such as GitLab, Jenkins or similar tools.
- Experience of conducting and enabling non-functional testing such as Performance (preferably k6, gatling, JMeter or similar tools), Security, Compatibility and Accessibility.
- Experience working in agile environment and defect management tools like JIRA or similar.
You will be part of a multi-functional agile delivery team and be an integral part of shaping and delivering automated test solutions that enable Universal Credit Working Age Benefits to deliver quality services consistently that meet the needs of our agents and claimants. You will collaborate with others, actively seek input from colleagues and value a multi-disciplinary team over hierarchy, working alongside and providing leadership to other Test Engineers as well as both Software and DevOps engineers within the teams around you and the wider community to deliver consistent solutions and strategies.
Location: You will join us in one of our brilliant digital hubs in Birmingham, Leeds, Manchester or Newcastle, whichever is most convenient for you.
Hybrid Working: We work a hybrid model - you will spend some time working at home and some time collaborating face to face in a hub.
Pay: We offer competitive pay of up to £71,017.
Pension: You will get a brilliant civil service pension with employer contributions worth 28.97%, worth over £16,000 per year.
Holidays: A generous leave package starting at 26 days rising to 31 days over time. You can also take up to 3 extra days off a month on flexitime. You will also get all the usual public holidays.
