As a Senior Social Media Marketing Manager, your key responsibilities will include:
- Lead relationships with comms colleagues to deliver creative social campaigns, optimised for a range of channels and audiences.
- Develop bold and innovative paid or no-cost social strategies and creative social content, which maximise reach, trust, relevance and impact.
- Ensure audience insight and performance data is used across the team to inform decisions and shape content that is integrated with policy and operational delivery.
- Lead the monitoring and evaluation of campaign performance and present findings to a range of stakeholders.
- Lead the ideation of innovative social content. Translate complex subject matter into clear, accessible and engaging communications.
- Manage external agencies and collaborate with in-house teams to generate distinct always-on social campaigns.
- Drive our case study agenda and lead the team to deliver impactful social campaigns through trusted voices and 'real people'.
- Proactively engage with content creators to harness their audience-reach, as well as managing paid creator relationships via our agencies.
- Confidently work with agencies and suppliers to ensure that services are cost-effective and represent good value for the taxpayer.
- Liaise cross-Government with the New Media Unit, No.10 and other Government Departments to ensure content is distributed in an impactful way.
- Line manage direct reports, supporting them to deliver against objectives and with their professional development.
- Champion best practice in social media and ensure DWP Social Media Policy and style guides are updated accordingly.
Experience Criteria for the Role:
- Experience leading organic social media planning and delivery, implementing creative and impactful content strategies, including with content creators and case studies.
- Strong understanding of what makes effective, inclusive, accessible and engaging social media content on each platform β and how to deliver it with limited or no budget to reach our audiences where they are.
- Experience of applying audience insight, data and evaluation to drive continuous improvement and impact.
- Leadership and line management experience, including setting clear expectations, delegation and continued support for professional development.
- A collaborative mindset, and the ability to work across disciplines and teams to achieve shared goals.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively and efficiently to deliver a timely and accurate service.
