Key accountabilities:
- You will have oversight of the Government Soft Lands approach, assisting in the seamless transition from capital projects to operational phase asset management.
- Deliver and improve a ‘golden thread’ of information on DWP’s built assets that is accurate, complete, consistent, and accessible.
- Undertake the activities/responsibilities of the Owner and/or GSL Champion in accordance with BS8536-1, ensuring other roles and activity/responsibility owners are identified and contribute to the project.
- Assist in the transparency of value-for-money project proposals from inception to completion within the business case process.
- Engage key operational phase stakeholders to drive design innovation which benefits the whole life of an asset.
- Liaise with key stakeholders, delivery partners, and main contractors to ensure key Soft Landings project milestones are on track and all relevant policies are considered.
- Responsible for soft landings process and associated documentation.
- Assist in the delivery of validated and assured data for decision making.
- Delivery of project outcome reports related to Asset Management, encompassing a holistic approach to Post Occupancy Evaluations.
Person specification:
- Extensive experience in the construction industry in Design, Construction Management, Facilities Management, or Asset management.
- Strong understanding of using IT systems for managing information through the Building Information Management or Soft Landing approach.
- Expert understanding of information management and the information lifecycle in the construction or property industry.
- Experience delivering projects to Government Soft Landings/BSRIA soft-landing principles.
- Experience of specifying and/or assessing Environmental, Social, Security and Economic outcomes of projects.
- Familiar with Post Occupancy Surveys focused on asset management.
- Relevant experience in a project delivery role.
- Good supplier relationship, contract, and commercial management outcomes.
- Proficient in MS Office applications including Visio, PowerPoint, Project, Power BI.
- Experience in building modelling activities.
- Capable of problem solving and process management.
- Document control experience and knowledge of property data management systems.
Qualifications/professional memberships:
- Applicable Degree/Professional body accreditation or suitable experience (e.g. Architecture Degree or Post Graduate, MSc Mechanical & Electrical Engineering and Design).
- Achieved or working towards a qualification in project management.
This role is based in our DWP office in Newcastle.
Alongside your salary of £42,614, Department for Work and Pensions contributes £12,345 towards you being a member of the Civil Service Defined Benefit Pension scheme.
