The Clinical Education Assurance Leads are responsible for assuring that supplier-delivered training is clinically robust, contractually compliant, and aligned with DWP's Core Training and Guidance Materials (CTGM), national CPD best practice, and regulatory standards (e.g. GMC, NMC, HCPC). The role involves monitoring and evaluating clinical education programmes, conducting audits, embedding clinical governance frameworks, and supporting inspection readiness through accurate documentation and evidence of learning.

Acting as a strategic link between the Education and Clinical Governance teams, the postholder engages with internal and external stakeholders, including clinical educators, governance leads, and Health Education England, to observe training delivery, assess its impact on clinical decision-making, and identify trends in learning outcomes. They lead assurance reporting, contribute to policy development, and support continuous improvement across supplier organisations.

Key deliverables include:

  • Providing assurance to the Chief Medical Advisor and Clinical Governance Boards that education delivery aligns with policy intent and clinical standards to meet FAS contract requirements.
  • Supporting the development of feedback mechanisms and governance oversight.
  • Design, implement, and lead robust assurance processes to monitor supplier compliance with the delivery of training and guidance materials.
  • Maintain strong and proactive relationships with internal stakeholders, including the Clinical Governance Lead and Education Lead, to ensure alignment of training delivery with clinical and editorial standards.
  • Improving the quality of health assessments through better-trained professionals.
  • Work independently and collaboratively with external stakeholders, including education leads and clinical directors, to lead a structured programme of engagement.
  • Collaborate closely with Contract Management Performance Delivery (CMPD) and Clinical Governance Leads to ensure suppliers meet their contractual obligations regarding the delivery of training and guidance.
  • Collaborate with clinical data analysts, the Dispute Resolution Service, Customer Experience Directorate, Serious Case Panel, and legal teams to analyse complaints, mandatory reconsiderations, appeals, and legal cases.
  • Develop and apply clear, evidence-based criteria to evaluate the effectiveness of training delivery by suppliers.
  • Reducing complaints, mandatory reconsiderations, and appeals.
  • Enhancing public trust in the department's clinical standards.

The Civil Service is committed to attract, retain and invest in talent wherever it is found. We particularly welcome people from ethnic minority backgrounds applying as they are under-represented groups in DWP.
