Head of Aviation Environment Analysis, Department for Transport (DfT), United Kingdom. This team leads analysis supporting aviation environment policy, including aviation decarbonisation, noise and air quality, within the Aviation, Maritime and Borders Analysis Division (AMBA).
Responsibilities
- Lead analytical support to all aspects of aviation environment policy.
- Build and maintain close relationships with senior leaders of the aviation environment policy team to ensure analysis is integrated into objectives and work plans.
- Oversee your team's work plans, prioritising effectively to maximise impact of analytical resources.
- Ensure delivery of your team's outputs on time, fit for purpose, and aligned with analytical quality assurance standards.
- Balance short-term delivery with investment in your team's capability to provide outputs needed by policy teams in the future.
- Be an analytical leader within DfT, ensuring analysis is well-integrated into policy development and provides timely, high-quality evidence to achieve objectives.
Person Specification
To be successful, you will need:
- Extensive experience delivering analytical programmes of work to support policy development, with ability to design and oversee programmes in dynamic environments and deliver through stakeholders.
- Knowledge of the decarbonisation policy environment and a full range of analysis capabilities to add value to complex environmental policy challenges.
- Extensive experience leading teams of analysts and empowering them to perform at their best in the short term and for future challenges.
Eligibility
You must be a full member of the Government Economic Service (GES) OR eligible to join (Membership - Government Economic Service - GOV.UK).
Salary and Benefits
Salary: Β£67,313 per year, with Civil Service Defined Benefit Pension scheme contributions of Β£19,500 towards pension eligibility.
