Accredited Transport Modellers at this grade receive a £4,000 annual retention allowance.

This role offers the chance to lead important analytical work, shape how modelling is improved while promoting TASM analysis within and outside of DfT, and support colleagues across policy and analysis to deliver impactful results. You’ll also help strengthen TASM’s modelling approaches more broadly. We can tailor responsibilities to your strengths along with TASM’s priorities if you are successful in your application.
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Co‑lead the development and ongoing improvement of the Freight Analysis and Modelling Environment (FAME) centred on a multimodal freight model.
- Integrate FAME into our national modelling system and work with stakeholders to boost its effectiveness.
- Lead freight forecasting and policy testing while enhancing TAG guidance on freight modelling.
