HEALTH & SAFETY EXECUTIVE FOR NORTHERN IRELAND SHAPE WORKPLACE SAFETY AND HEALTH SAVE LIVES The Department for the Economy (DfE) is seeking to appoint up to 4 new Members to the Board of the Health & Safety Executive for Northern Ireland (HSENI), an executive Non-Departmental Public Body with Crown status. This is a rewarding and important role. Please note that experience of Health and Safety issues is not essential. HSENIs mission is to reduce work-related serious injury and ill-health in Northern Ireland. The appointments are effective from 1 May 2025 for a four-year term. The time commitment amounts to 1.5 days per month, or equivalent and current remuneration is £4,195 per annum. All reasonable receipted dependent carer expenses will also be reimbursed where applicable. Currently young people, people with a disability, those from minority ethnic communities and people from an agricultural background are under-represented on the Board and applications from members of these groups would be particularly welcome. We are operating the Guaranteed Interview Scheme for applicants with a disability. No academic qualifications are required for the post. Applicants are required to submit evidence of competency against 4 essential criteria in total – 3 mandatory criteria and a choice of 1 of the remaining 3 criteria. Appointment will be made on merit from those individuals who best satisfy the essential criteria, and all criteria carry equal weight.
