We have an exciting opportunity for a Team Leader to join our team at the Crown Premises Fire Safety Inspectorate, (CPFSI) at the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG).

As a Team Leader, you will deliver professional, technical, and managerial leadership and support for Inspectors. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Promote CPFSI\’s mission to ensure compliance with the Fire Safety Order
  • Lead the inspection team at the most complex and high-risk inspections
  • Support complex inspection activity remotely with agile challenge and strategic benchmarking of regulatory decision-making
  • Train and assess new Inspectors within the probation arrangements
  • Travel to and from sites to undertake inspections predominantly in their own geographical region but not exclusively
  • Direct responsibility for the wellbeing, specialist development, performance, and effective working of their 3 Inspectors, and be their primary source of advice and guidance

Candidates must have qualifications and development commensurate with accreditation to the Level 4 Diploma within the National Fire Chiefs Council Competency Framework for Business Fire Safety Regulators. Extensive experience as a qualified Fire Safety Inspector enforcing the Fire Safety Order 2005 is also required.

The salary for this role is £54,531, and the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government contributes £15,797 towards your membership in the Civil Service Defined Benefit Pension scheme.
