Key responsibilities for the role:
  • Investigate reported issues, determine their root causes and impact, and advocate for valuable change.
  • Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, users, and agile teams to prioritise and deliver user-centric transformations, considering policy constraints.
  • Utilise your technical expertise to define requirements, create models for shared understanding, and make evidence-based decisions for impactful solutions.
  • Mentor junior team members, empowering them with skills and knowledge for success, and foster a culture of continuous improvement by sharing your expertise within our collaborative community.

The above responsibilities are not exhaustive, and the post holders may be required to undertake some additional tasks not listed above, within the remit of their grade, to support the team.

As a line manager, you will be responsible for working with your members of staff to define their objectives, as well as managing their development and performance.

We would love to hear from you if you have experience in:

  • Investigating, analysing, and solving problems, and making evidence-based decisions in a Business Analyst context.
  • Identifying stakeholders and determining the level of engagement required for successful collaboration.
  • Capturing evidence-based user needs and translating them into functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Modelling business and data views (existing, conceptual, and proposed) to support common understanding.
  • Leading and mentoring other Business Analysts to ensure delivery of high-quality services.
  • Identifying opportunities for process improvement, automation, or alternative approaches to business activities.

The below experience would be beneficial but not essential as we will provide necessary training:

  • Delivering change in a collaborative team using agile principles.
  • Managing requirements to promote re-use and adaptability.
  • Using business architecture to inform your analysis.
  • Defining the approach, timescale and resources needed to deliver a specific piece of work.

It is unusual that all candidates will meet all the desirable criteria. If your skills and experience look slightly different from what we have identified and you think you can bring value to the Business Analyst role and the team, we strongly encourage you to apply.

We’ll assess you against these behaviours during the selection process:

  • Communicating and Influencing
  • Developing Self and Others

We’ll assess you against these technical skills during the selection process:

  • Defining and managing business needs, user needs and requirements.
  • Business process improvement.
