- Take responsibility for agreed learning activities (which may involve planning, preparing and delivering learning activities for individuals/groups or whole classes).
- Monitor pupils, assess, record and report pupils' achievement, progress and development to the class teacher.
- Demonstrate a secure level of understanding of SEND needs and the ability to promote consistently high levels of behaviour and learning.
- An HLTA qualification or above or can demonstrate that they can meet the HLTA standards.
- The ability to work independently and use their own initiative.
- A positive and nurturing manner.
- Knowledge of a range of learning and behaviour strategies.
- Knowledge or experience of Read, Write Inc. phonics programme.
