DFC Work Experience – Marketing & PR Assistant

We\’re looking for a Marketing & PR Assistant to join our team at Minorities Business Network NI (MBNNI). This is a unique opportunity to get hands-on experience in marketing and communications while championing diversity and inclusion in Northern Ireland.Proudly supported by the Department for Communities, the online platform Minorities and Business Network NI provides a hub of resources and support for ethnic minority businesses and professionals across Northern Ireland.

Responsibilities

  • Content Creation: Crafting engaging content for social media, our website, and newsletters.
  • Social Media Management: Scheduling posts and engaging with our online community.
  • Media Relations: Assisting with press releases and building relationships with media contacts.
  • Event Support: Helping to plan and execute our events, including workshops.
  • Research & Analysis: Providing insights to help shape our marketing strategies.
  • Administrative Support: Keeping our marketing efforts organized and on track.

Skills and Qualifications

  • You\’re passionate about marketing, PR, and promoting diversity.
  • You have excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • You\’re a proactive team player with a willingness to learn.
  • You\’re comfortable with social media and basic IT tools (Microsoft Office).
  • Experience with graphic design (Canva) or website content management is a plus, but not essential.

Further Information

This work experience opportunity is expected to last for 4-8 weeks and will require attendance of 25 Hours per week. While on Work Experience, participants will retain their entitlement to benefit. Those who are not receiving benefit are also welcome to participate. Travel and childcare costs may be reimbursed. Participants will also receive an incentive payment equivalent to Β£10/day to a maximum of Β£50/week.
