At Habitat ReStore, individuals will gain work experience in the area of collections and managing the donations received in the warehouse. Individuals will assist with collections from individual or corporate donors in the surrounding area. Tasks will include being out in the lorry or van to local homes or businesses to collect donations, assisting with the unloading of the items to the donation centre, ensuring all items are labelled and recorded, and moving stock to the shop floor.
Responsibilities
- Support the Donations Collection Team with the collection of donations in the Habitat van/lorry.
- Ensure all items collected are labelled and ready for registering in the donation centre.
- Sort donated goods, this could include pricing of stock.
- Move stock to shop floor once priced, ensuring a high standard of presentation and display of merchandise.
- Help customers in store if items are needed to be moved when purchased.
- Assist with keeping the store clear and tidy and adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Attend appropriate training as required.

Employer - Habitat ReStore
Work Time: ReStore is open Monday to Saturday from 9am to 5pm. Work experience will be during these hours. This work experience opportunity is expected to last for 8 weeks and will require attendance of 25 - 30 hours per week. While on Work Experience, participants will retain their entitlement to benefit. Travel and childcare costs may be reimbursed. Participants will also receive an incentive payment equivalent to £10 per day/max £50/week.
