Role: Metal Fabricator (Mild steel) – on-site, Kidderminster

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role in Kidderminster for a Mild steel Metal Fabricator. The Metal Fabricator will be responsible for day-to-day tasks including cutting/prepping, fabricating, and assembling various structural metal products. Responsibilities include interpreting and reading drawings, operating hand/power tools, using heavy machinery to prep steels, grinding tasks, and performing forklift / MWP / crane operations to move materials. The role requires high precision and adherence to safety standards. On-site installation when required,problem solving on-site is critical. CSCS is required, with PASMA and IPAF training available. The role is aligned with BS EN 1090 compliance, including a coding test for compliance.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and read technical drawings and fabrication drawings
• Cutting, prepping, fabricating, and assembling structural metal products
• Operate hand tools, power tools, and heavy machinery for steel preparation
• Grind and finish fabricated components
• Move materials using forklift, MWP, and crane operations
• Assist with on-site installation and problem-solving as needed
• Adhere to safety standards and procedures

Qualifications

• Proficiency and experience in mild steel fabrication/welding workshop
• City and Guilds / NVQ level 2 or higher in fabrication
• Experience with welding, grinding, and power tools
• Ability to operate forklift
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical drawings
• Experience on construction sites for installing steel structures
• Safety-conscious with strong adherence to regulations
• Metal fabrication experience required
• Good physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects
• Bonus: CSCS site card / IPAF card / PASMA card
