The Data Visualisation & Insights Director is responsible for managing a small team of data professionals focused on reporting and visualization. This role ensures the efficient execution of visualisation processes, adherence to operational standards, and delivery of high‐quality outputs for internal and client‐facing projects. The position requires deep expertise in data visualisation tools and principles, the ability to interpret and communicate insights from data, and a solid understanding of data infrastructure that supports reporting.
Responsibilities
- Team Leadership
- Manage and coach a team of Managers, Executives, and Analysts focused on data visualization and reporting.
- Set priorities, coordinate work activities, and ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Participate in hiring decisions and make compensation recommendations.
- Process Management
- Ensure accurate and efficient execution of visualization and reporting processes.
- Maintain and improve operational standards, templates, and best practices.
- Monitor adherence to policies, procedures, and quality standards.
- Technical Expertise & Insights
- Act as a subject matter expert in data visualization and reporting.
- Interpret data visualizations to produce actionable insights for stakeholders and clients.
- Provide consultative guidance on visualization best practices and data storytelling.
- Data Infrastructure Awareness
- Understand data architecture and infrastructure that supports reporting and visualization.
- Collaborate with data engineering teams to ensure data pipelines meet visualization requirements.
- Identify opportunities to optimize data flows for reporting efficiency.
- Project Delivery
- Ensure delivery of project goals within agreed timelines and scope.
- Contribute to planning and resource allocation for visualization projects.
- Support financial tracking and adherence to Statements of Work.
- Collaboration
- Foster teamwork within the visualization team and build strong partnerships with other departments.
- Coordinate with cross‐functional teams to address operational challenges.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in data visualization and reporting.
- Experience in a supervisory or team lead role.
- Experience in consulting or client‐facing environments preferred.
- Proven ability to derive insights from data and communicate findings effectively.
