We’re hiring a Head of Group Financial Reporting & Accounting as part of our team based from our London office.

Purpose of the Role

The role is responsible for driving a best-in-class group reporting process under IFRS, leading the monthly consolidation and reporting to Dentsu Group Inc. (DGI) while providing strong technical accounting support on complex matters such as M&A related activities, restructuring and corporate simplification. The role will act as a trusted finance advisor to senior stakeholders, supporting the Group’s strategic and growth initiatives. The role reports to the Group Reporting Executive Director in DGI, based in Tokyo.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the monthly/quarterly/full year IM reporting requirements to Dentsu Group Inc; acting as primary liaison with DGI finance team in Tokyo.
  • Ownership of group accounting and reporting policies, ensuring effective communication and training provided to IM wide finance controllers.
  • IFRS expert for complex accounting matters within the IM Group. Leads resolution of technical accounting questions, including M&A, treasury and tax related matters.
  • Manage overall IM quarterly reviews and external audit, leading communication and relationship with Tokyo-based external auditors.
  • Co-ordination of testing of group level financial controls for JSOX (Japanese Sarbanes-Oxley) purposes.
  • Identify and implement improvements to GFRA reporting, processes and controls and oversee the development of training and supporting reference material for all finance team members on group reporting, policy, and technical accounting requirements.

Key Skills

  • Fully qualified (ACA, ICAS, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with significant experience in a group technical financial reporting role.
  • Strong expertise in IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards).
  • Solid detailed working knowledge of group consolidation process and systems.
  • Experience of managing large group audits including; auditor relationships, managing complex issues through to conclusion; preparation of position papers for audit committees or similar governance forums.
  • Ability to clearly communicate complex accounting issues to executive leaders.
