Purpose of the Role
The Business Development Manager is a new role responsible for helping to coordinate business development activity across Dentsu Creative. You will work closely with our Managing Director on the implementation of the new business strategy, from identifying new clients and designing prospecting campaigns, through to the delivery of proposals and pitch responses – and you will collaborate with our marketing team to develop sales collateral, case studies and events. This is a varied, hands-on role that would suit someone who is naturally curious, proactive and enjoys building relationships across the business. You'll work with teams across our UK offices and practice areas, helping to uncover great stories, develop compelling content and ensure Dentsu Creative is always putting its best foot forward. No two days are the same, making this an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys variety and taking ownership of projects.
What you'll do
- Research different industries and companies to help identify new client prospects.
- Prepare and collate the relevant materials to target the desired client list.
- Work closely with our team designer on new prospecting campaigns from brief through to completion.
- Support agency pitch teams throughout the process, coordinating activity across multiple teams and stakeholders to help keep projects on track, organised and delivered to a high standard.
- Support the creation of pitch content as required, including credentials, RFIs, tenders and pitch presentations, ensuring Dentsu Creative leverages its capabilities, case studies, network and senior talent in the best way possible to win.
- Build a strong understanding of the agency's capabilities, client work and strategic thinking, helping to identify and develop case studies and stories that showcase our best work and support new business conversations.
- Write clear and engaging copy for credentials, case studies, pitch materials, prospecting campaigns and other new business content.
- Work closely with colleagues across the agency to uncover interesting work, client success stories and examples that demonstrate the breadth of Dentsu Creative's capabilities.
- Support the management of our sales pipeline and lead tracking in Salesforce (prior knowledge isn't essential).
- Keep a close eye on competitor activity and industry trends to help identify opportunities.
- Support the marketing team with the planning and execution of events targeting prospective clients, including guest management, venue liaison and event materials.
The work is fast, fluid and exciting, with no two days being the same. You will be part of a close-knit team, juggling multiple pitches and opportunities. We are looking for someone who enjoys working collaboratively, takes pride in producing high-quality work and is keen to learn and grow in a dynamic agency environment.
What you'll bring
- Excellent written communication skills with the ability to write engaging copy for presentations, case studies and client-facing materials.
- An interest in branding, marketing and strategy, with the ability to understand client challenges and translate them into compelling stories.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
- A proactive approach and willingness to take ownership, using your initiative and looking for opportunities to add value.
- Confident building relationships and working with stakeholders across different teams and levels of the business.
- High attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality work.
- Entrepreneurial and analytical thinker with an interest in understanding markets, brands and business opportunities.
- Proficient in PowerPoint, Word and Excel.
- A minimum of three years' experience in Business Development, Marketing, Communications or Account Management within a creative, integrated, digital or media agency is desirable, but not essential.
