Excellence in client leadership is critical in reinforcing Carat's role as trusted advisor & strategic partner to accelerate our client's brand & media leadership. Additionally, at this pivotal time for our agency, we need digital leadership that can harness our capabilities & specialists to deliver forward-thinking, innovative solutions that deliver on our evolved brand proposition, as well as push Carat to lead in integrating the power of data, tech & media to unlock greater efficiency & effectiveness.

ROLE PURPOSE

Reporting into the Managing Director & Global Client President for Carat Global this is a dual role for an ambitious self-starter, spanning client and digital practice leadership.

The Global Client Lead responsibilities encompass building a trusted partnership within your nominated client portfolio, enabling Carat to understand and solve their biggest media and marketing challenges. You will deliver excellence in global strategic client account leadership to grow revenue, profitability, and client satisfaction, as well as contribute more widely to Carat Global through the increase of new logo revenue, the sharpening of our capabilities, and advocating for our proposition internally & externally.

As Head of Digital, Data & Tech, you will work alongside Head of Digital Operations, and partner with the Client Presidents, Head of Strategy, and relevant senior dentsu stakeholders to establish and advocate for the Carat Global digital vision, narrative & strategy. This role requires hands‑on leadership across our digital product/data offering/solutions; identification and curation of thought leadership that strengthens Carat's credibility; a focus around innovation that supports our pioneering narrative; an internal & external voice that builds our reputation; and a key contributor across new logo activities. You will further need to harness the local Carat Digital community and help raise the overall quality of our digital output.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

CLIENT LEADERSHIP:

  • Profitable revenue growth across your account portfolio to include PRIP maximisation, and out of scope revenue maximisation.
  • Design and execute against key account plans (KAP) inclusive of all markets and dentsu entities, pushing a media++ agenda.
  • In partnership with your Global Client President, strategic client leadership across your portfolio of accounts, elevating the role of media within their business, and providing constructive provocations across their marketing and media ambitions that credibly positions Carat more 'upstream' and builds trusted senior client relationships.
  • Drive thought leadership encompassing the media landscape and client business challenges to identify opportunities that potentially lead to unlocking new value.
  • Co‑create solutions with clients; deliver on our pioneering ambition.
  • Ensure fully compliant & meeting all contractual obligations.
  • Oversee management and mobilisation of wider Carat and dentsu network to deliver excellence and strong TRR scores.
  • Keep up to date with dentsu's evolving product development & services, industry innovation and thinking, media owner positioning and apply this knowledge to support the team and guide the client.

DIGITAL LEADERSHIP:

  • Connect with Accelerator account clients to support/ lead on client's digital thinking and oversee on strategies that drive growth and transformation across their business, engaging the broader digital / dentsu practices as necessary. Develop roadmap for application of relevant dentsu media product for key account clients.
  • Leverage & foster relationships with key global digital platforms.
  • Drive understanding of digital, data & tech, internally, with our clients, and within the wider industry to demonstrate best‑in‑class capabilities as well as identify revenue opportunities and potential product development.
  • Spearhead digital innovation across our client portfolio & externally.
  • Raise our profile within the industry, help to evolve our craft and agency story. This should include development and delivery of thought leadership.
  • Work closely with relevant dentsu strategy, data and tech leads to ensure our proposition and capability is fit for purpose.
  • Ensure full understanding of dentsu media product suite within global and key local market teams, and how they deliver against client strategies; identify gaps.
  • Partner with Head of Growth to identify, pursue and win business with new and existing clients.
  • Leverage & foster relationships with key global digital platforms.
  • Become a leader across digital, data & tech, to inspire the best, most thought‑provoking, and pioneering work and points of view.
  • Lead digital responses on significant global / cross‑market new business pitches.
  • Provide specialist technical advice on subject areas and proactively involve and work with specialist teams when required.
  • Develop any client training agendas to upscale digital knowledge within client organization.

GENERAL:

  • Culturally connect team to the vision and values of Carat and dentsu.
  • Attract & retain both talent & clients; coach your team members to grow them and their interpersonal skills, enable them to present a holistic viewpoint. Work with relevant parties to ensure talent development plans are in place for team and aligned to the vision for capabilities and skillsets required.
  • Share knowledge and information with your team in a timely way.
  • Encourage collaboration and communication.
  • Expand your team's knowledge base relevant to the dual role you are playing.
  • Effectively manage resource utilisation to have the ability to flex resources against pitches, local market growth initiatives or thought leadership, alongside client BAU.
  • Work with Head of Growth to ensure right talent with the right skills and capacity can fulfil our new logo requirements (international and local).
  • Partnering with Head of Digital Operations to ensure the right knowledge base and skillsets exist within the digital practice to effectively service current and future clients.

You will have a strong, proven track record of:

  • Ability to work with multiple stakeholders across companies, cultures and countries to drive your agenda through influence
  • Strong skills in persuasion and selling of your ideas and strategies to new and existing clients.
  • Best in class strategic thinking with an ability to communicate (written & verbal) strategic and innovative ideas with clarity and simplicity
  • Strong understanding of the role of media in delivering business value for modern brands.
